In the Orthodox Church in America, the appelation for a Miracle Working
Icon is WonderWorking Icon. Many of my Slavic friends attach a higher
mystical value to a wonderwork than they do a simple miracle, regardless
of the level of entropy created.....

> The Afrikaans word for miracle is "wonderwerk". English does have its
> equivalent in the word wonderwork, but I have very seldom
> encountered this
> word. Like in the English word wonderwork, the word
> "wonderwerk" does not
> mean only mircale. It can also be used for any work which is amazing,
> inspiring and guiding, i.e. any work which makes a calling on
> our mental
> faculty of wondering and its many facets.
> Every emergence, minute or grand, is for me a wonderwork.
> Every wondering
> is for me an emerging wonderwork too.
