I have found this list serve very informational over the past year and a
half. It has stimulated much thought and processing for those of us who
are either in the area of training and development or working in an
organization that understands the value of organizational Learning. Here
at University Housing Services on the campus of Illinois State University
we have been working with Learning Organization concepts as described by
Senge for a number of years. Organizational change and transformation is
very complicated. Sustaining such change or being able to "manage change"
is even more challenging. Human dynamics is complicated. Systemic thought
is at the core of being able to sustain long term change or at least in
understanding why old mechanistic thought patterns are destructive.

If there are other schools of higher education implementing organizational
learning initiatives please get back to me. It is time that we begin to
create organizational learning communities that incorporate the challenges
that we face in higher education.

With this in mind we are hosting our first conference on organizational
learning on November 2 here on the campus of Illinois State University.
Our web address is www.train2learn.net where you can find out more about
our conference and register. We also have a link to Rick's site that
includes this list serve. Thanks, and learning. Michael Speros
