Dear Organlearners,

Andrew Campbell < ACampnona@aol.com > writes:

>Master Leonardo, please tell me about the relation of
>mathematics to learning.
>"Certainly, no human investigation can be called true
>science without going through mathematical tests...

Greetings dear Andrew,

I wonder how many fellow learners realise that Leonardo wrote this long
before Newton actually showed how to do it. I wonder how many know that
even long before even Leonardo one Roger Bacon of Oxford (where you live)
wrote the same! And perhaps for writing this and not all his other sound
writings he had to spend 14 years in jail!

>But Master Leonardo, you are hardly a man of letters;-)
>I see no Ph.D. Yes, I know that since I am not a man of
>letters, certain presumptuous persons will feel justified
>in censuring me, alleging that I am ignorant of writing, -fools!

Do you still remember the piece which I wrote about Michael Faraday on the
topic "Being mental"? The greatest experimenter ever with an understanding
of scientific theories who perplexed even Maxwell, self one of the
greatest theorists ever. Faraday never put his hand to inform anyone about
his theory. Furthermore, Faraday consistently refused to follow the same
carrot which is held in front of millions of students at innumerous
universities over many centuries since the 12 hundreds . He died as Mr
Faraday, except for one and only one honorary PhD which he graciously
accepted (but subsequently never refered to) among the many dozens offered
to him over the years by many universities. Who was this Mr. Michael
Faraday?

Andrew, do you know that the name Michael in Hebrew means "messenger
(micha) of God (El)"?

It is what a person knows within and not what that person has written
without which makes all the difference.

>And my question concerning mathematics is, why
>should people people delight in that which removes
>the possibility and comfort of miracles?

Mathematics is something which happens in the mind of a person. The
mathematical symbols in script is merely mathematical information as a
result of the mathematics in the mind. The teacher who teaches any person
how to produce mathematical information by manipulating other mathematical
information knows nothing of mathematics self. I am ready to spend 14
years in jail for having said this ;-)

Anything which happens in the mind of any person is a miracle. It is even
a greater miracle when person A with what is happening in his/her mind
succeeds in informing another person B such that exactly the same happens
in the mind of person B as a result of such information.

"No, it is not a miracle," they keep on telling me. "It is one of the
easiest things to do. It is called rote learning. You should try it too."

>I have often felt an action within everything that I call
>"Necessity" and it is the one thing I am unable to pursue
>with my body and mind and my instruments. I see it
>like the restraint, a rein if you will, of a holding of all the
>cosmic energies. This I sense as the rhythms and
>formalities of operations. This to me is like a metaphysical
>residue that I feel constrained from investigating.

For me self this "necessity" requires creative collapse upon creative
collapse in a mature manner to pursue this "necessity".

>Before it I feel satisfied with the sheer spectacle, the
>vision as you might express it. It is as if it were preserved
>from intellectual investigations. I feel it sometimes as
>behaviours of energy, an invisible but mighty protagonist.
>Eternal and unchangeable its discourses to mankind are
>always through descriptive effects and is understood as
>the description of its effects.
>Well, perhaps there is a word for that 'miracle' too.
>Indeed?

For me it is Creation, the outcome of God who is Love (agape). Is this
not how you end your contribution with

>Love.
>Mmmmm

What makes me tick? Love. Love is supreme.

With care and best wishes
