Hi, Jan! Why not - you don't know that I have found the ultimate, unique
argument. I created it self, did not share it yet and never heard it from
somewhere else.

So here comes the meme - and don't call it spam!

The placement of the 0 somewhen in the past has proven to be arbitrary.
This should kill the meme of 'millenium', but it doesn't. Why? What really
counts is a) what we are used to and b) what changes. And we are used to
the digits in the date and these digits are the only thing which changes
year by year - for everybody within one moment, which many people
celebrate with a more or less chearful 'Happy new year'. The remaining
question, the one why 'millenium' was not killed is: When do the digits of
the year change most? A similar question: Did you ever care to observe the
mileage reading on your car to switch from 99,999 to 100,000 km/miles?
Compare this experience with the one you would have one mile later.

Ah, this meme will change the world, at least for those who constantly
denied their tacit knowing on the 'millenium' because they were caught up
in some formal constructions. Let's free them! Distribute this meme freely
all over the world!

I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year!

Liebe Gruesse,

Winfried
