The Organization Development Institute is proud to announce the acceptance
of nominations for the 2002 Outstanding O. D. Project of the Year Award.
Initial nominations are due to Allan Foss, Organization Development
Institute Award Committee Chair, by Friday, March 1, 2002. All
nominations can be submitted via e-mail to afoss@ppg.com.
Self-nominations are welcome.

This award is given annually to at least one O. D. project from anywhere
in the world that demonstrates positive, intended change through effective
application of Organization Development theory and techniques. The
primary purpose of this award is to promote learning about Organization
Development through the open sharing of success stories.

The award for the Outstanding O. D. Project of the Year Worldwide will be
presented on Friday, May 24, 2002 at the Organization Development
Institute's 32nd Annual Information Exchange at the Palwaukee Inn in
Wheeling, Illinois (near Chicago). Award nominees are encouraged to
attend the Exchange and are given an opportunity to present highlights of
their work.

The Grand Winner of the 2001 Outstanding O.D. Project of the Year
Worldwide was "How a Virtual Team Used Real-Time Strategic Change and
Music to Engage More than 1,300 People in Alignment with the New Mission,
Vision and Values of a 145-Year-Old Company." This project was sponsored
by NUI Corporation of New Jersey.

Additionally, the following three projects were recognized in 2001 as
honorable mention:

"Learn from the Past to Compete for the Future: Learning Histories as an
Intervention," sponsored by Van den Bergh Nederland / Unilever. "New
Business Leader Program," sponsored by Ford Motor Company. "Developing an
Information Technology Leadership Group," sponsored by Civic Development
Group.
