Hello Elixabete,

Thank you and welcome. I've worked with companies implementing quality
systems like ISO 9000, EFQM, PQMI, TQM, SQC and even did an application
for the Baldrige Award. And at the same time using the ideas and
principles from the LO. For me they're just two sides of the same coin or
medal: to much systematisation leads to ISO-lated departments and
companies while to much experimenting, trial and error and working in the
area's outside your resonsibility leads to chaos, uncertainty and
companies that become LOst. There is no best way for every situation, so
you pick and choose something, listen, check, think and be critical and if
it doesn't work: change.

Personally I like best this idea of Dr Deming : "drive out fear". For some
people a system is frightening because a system might seem to there to
control and punish them; for other people too much uncertainty,
responsibility and freedom is frightening. The most important problem is
not to develop a strong identification with either ISO or LO.
