LO ?
- On a huge hill, Cragged, and steep, Truth stands, and he that will
Reach her, about must, and about must go; And what the hills suddenness
resists, winne so;
John Donne
"...Choice is different from desire. Try an experiment, Say, " I want."
Now say, "I choose." What is the difference? ... Wanting is deficiency,
choosing is sufficiency, electing what we truly want. We look back and see
how pivotal choice was as our life developed. So, too, will be the choices
of the future. The choice to be part of a LO is no different whether of
three or three thousand. Only through choice does an individual become the
steward of a larger vision. Learning Organizations can only be built by
people who put their life spirit into the task. Choice focuses the spirit.
Choice does not flow from convincing people that they 'should' do
something. Rather we might paint a picture of what it may be like and how
it may be built so that people may choose. Choice is then yours."
Peter Senge, The Fifth Discipline
" Andrew, the Gambia is very flat with no hills, being on a river delta."
May's uncle 2002
Does this LO ( of some two or three thousand souls) think it is for no reason
that it exists? Does this LO think that Peter Senge and At de Lange would
argue the toss as to whether or not, root and branch LO is about human
creativity's power to transform from good to better? (Development;-)
Does the LO think that what the LO adds up to is incoherent and that the sum
of its parts is no larger than it's whole;-)
Some here at LO will recognize the words above because they are attached to
images of May in the Gambia. If you would like to see what they have seen
then you may just plainly write me your inter-est, it's nature and I will
send the pictures to you.
I want volunteers, people who are willing to choose to help someone climb
a mountain that is flat based on the foundation the pictures alone
represent.
"- Learning is all about connections and through our connections with
unique people we are able to gain a true understanding of the world around
us."
