Dear Rick and Dear At,

Listening to the radio (BBC) yesterday I learned that Africa in the next
ten years will lose at least one quarter of her "working" population. I
guess by using the word "working" the BBC means "of working age" and I
think "of working age" might mean as young as five years old in some of
the locations on that continent?

On a different note, last week I took a lesson from a Tibetan monk, the
topic was, how to walk the river backwards: in more imprecise language, he
showed me with dignity and stillness how to "walk water uphill". For my
part, I bought him a "free lunch". I asked the monk if he was "walking
water uphill" alone. " ..My friend is guarding our tent by the river."
So, I left the man in his dirty saffron robes and ruddy red complexion
with his empty bowl and vulnerable "house" and I came home to "process"
some artwork (artWORK) among which there was one, it's a hundred yellow
rivers running uphill...most beautiful...but red blood spattered "hither
and yon".

Love,
Andrew
