Dear Leo,
'..I walk as much as I can, but I am very busy. It is very beautiful here
though it is in the city. The lilacs and hawthorn and laburnums are in
bloom in every garden and the chestnut trees are beautiful. If one really
loves nature, one can find beauty everywhere. But still I long for Holland
and for home.' Letters 1874, London
Walking, the total action of walking for Vincent was indispensable to his
experiences of nature... it was as if the more he walked the closer he was
able to get himself [note the doubling 'him' and 'self';-)... which
implies ;-) for me anyway Leo, that the further dear Vincent walked away
from where he was... the closer he got to where he truly IS.
Mmmmm
Of course, some thinking Vincent is dead... not quite so much the case, in
his case.
I see a fieled of wheat... cut ;-)
Love,
Andrew
