The "affection" is whatever you say it is, At, because what you describe
is an attribution, a quality you attribute to your dog/dogs. Chances are,
that label owes to inferences drawn from patterns you've observed in your
dog's/dogs' behavior (not sure if we're talking about one dog or more than
one).

In my case, I have little doubt: my dogs have all loved me. Don't know
why but they do -- at least that's what I infer from observing their
behavior.
