Greetings to all.

It has been a long time since I visited these message boards. Recently my
wife typed my name into Google and was surprised to find that my previous
postings here back in 1996 and 1997 popped up. As I looked at those
earlier postings I was struck by how much I missed participating in these
conversations. I know that the reasons that I stopped posting included
some pretty stressful changes that were going on at the time, but I can't
remember much of the specifics of those changes now.

I am heartened to see so many familiar names from those days still posting
here.

For those who don't know me (and a refresher/update for those who might
remember me from before) let me offer the following:

I received BS degrees in Psychology and Sociology in 1973 after which I
spent 11 years on active duty with the US Army as an Infantry and Special
Forces officer. When I left active duty I got my MS degree in Industrial/
Organizational Psychology with a multi-faceted focus in productivity
measurement and improvement, organizational development, and worker
motivation. Then I set out to make my way in the world of civilian
business and worked at the Savannah River Site. I got to do a lot of
really cool stuff at SRS and it was there that I first read Peter Senge's
THE FIFTH DISCIPLINE and attended my first (and, so far, only) Systems
Thinking conference in Boston. My main areas of work had been BPR/CI,
performance measurement and management, change management, teambuilding,
and general OD. I found that Systems Thinking made a lot of this stuff
make even more sense. I built a solid reputation and had a few really
impressive results from my work (I don't mean to sound immodest).

I left SRS in 1995 and set out to start a consulting business. That was
fun but ultimately failed due to lack of capital and the inability to do
it all by myself at the same time (aka - a lack of steady business).

After this business failure, I went back into the corporate world (sort
of) and got a "real job." Well, that's gone now and I am looking for a
new opportunity (you gotta love economic swings) and have decided that I
really need to pursue that which I love.

I have learned a lot from this group and from my life's experiences. I
think that is a large part of why I miss reading and posting here. I am
looking forward to getting (re)acquainted with everyone and getting back
in touch with what is happening in this field.

I have no burning questions to ask at this point but am very concerned
about what is happening within the US and around the world.
