Dear At and Bill,

The other day it was pointed out that cognitive dissonance has a role to
play in appreciation of art. The context was about photography, however I
suggest the same applies to music.

Apparently we have to overcome our CD before we can understand the artists
intent. When we achieve this our pleasure is intensified.
