Developing a Learning Culture LO30632 -Seeking German Partner

Dear OL colleagues,

I and several colleagues are working on a project proposal to support
the development of an organizational/institutional learning culture in a
consortium of 16 international agricultural research centers. These
centers operate in an increasingly complex environment, as part of a large
and growing network of organizations that include public sector agencies,
private industry, NGOs, universities, other research centers, etc. We are
facing dramatic changes in the need for effective solutions to rural
poverty, and the signs are apparent that old linear technology transfer
approach has to give way to a new networked approach to systemic
interventions and a learning-by-doing, self-correcting style. I am very
excited about the potential for helping our client organizations learn
their way into a new approach to doing business.

One of the funding agencies we are approaching with the proposal
requires that we have a German partner on the project. Ideally this would
be someone with a considerable experience in action
research/organizational learning (and possibly technology transfer work)
in the context of agricultural/rural development work in the countries of
the South. We would prefer someone with a formal association with a
German organization (could be a University, NGO, or development-oriented
organization) that would guarantee institutional commitment to the
project. The role of the German partner might include documenting
"innovation histories," facilitating organizational change initiatives,
consulting with client organizations to identify opportunities for useful
interventions, identifying and sharing best practices, or other ideas that
the partner might come up with.

Is there anyone in this OL listserve community interested in
participating, or can you forward me suggested names? Replies (either
nominations, or people directly interested) should be sent to me at
a.acosta@cgiar.org. A short CV and/or description of the individual's
organizational affiliation would be most helpful to accompany the
expression of interest.

A prompt reply would be most appreciated, since we're working against a
tight deadline for the proposal submission.

Thanks and warm regards,
