Call for Papers
Collaborative Capital: The Intangible Value of Collaboration ^Ö Its
Meaning, Measurement, and Impact
This is a call for papers for the Elsevier/JAI annual series of
Advances in Interdisciplinary Studies of Work Teams volume 11. Series
information is available at:
http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/bookdescription.cws_home/BS_AISWT/description#description
Effective collaboration is one of the corner stones of viable
organizations, but limited conceptual and accounting tools for making
the value of collaboration visible has limited the ability of
strategic decision makers and change agents in developing
collaboration as a core competency.
This volume will consist of papers that focus on collaborative
capital. We broadly define collaborative capital as how well people
work together toward shared goals and outcomes. It is manifested in
such outcomes as increased innovation and creativity, commitment and
involvement, flexibility and adaptability, leveraging knowledge, and
enhancing learning. The challenge is making the link between
collaboration and those outcomes visible in ways that can aid decision
makers.
Possible topics for papers include:
*Articulating the concept of collaborative capital, e.g., its role as
a core competency or strategic asset
*Relating collaborative capital to other forms of intangible capital
and to tangible capital
*Organizing and building infrastructure for creating collaborative
capital, including methods for enhancing value created through
collaboration and accounting for that value in ways that assist
strategic decision makers
*Collaboration and strategic alignment
*Collaboration and measurement
*Collaboration and innovation
*Collaboration and adaptation
*Exemplary cases and their practical and theoretical implications
