replying to Tracey's query re: readings on leadership, probably the best
book on leadership that I have come across is:
Ronald Heifetz (sp?) Leadership Without Easy Answers.
Heifetz talks about the key to good leaders being their central ability to
help their communities face the difficult issues, as opposed to avoiding
them. Such leaders don't have to have the answers. They simply have to
have the ability to keep people focussed on the questions long enough for
the solutions to emerge from the community. Strikes me as powerful stuff.
