Replying to LO14550 --

Experience is a multi edged sword.

Experience permits me to grasp and hang onto what is happening around me.
I couldn't understand calculus with out the ideas of algebra, the lessons
in history are less discernable with out knowledge of the situation around
the history. Having a base of information permits my mind to store and
relate the new situation for added learning.

Successful experience closes my mind to new ideas. The more successful I
become the more new ideas I set aside. Successful experiences may give me
the confidence to try more new ventures.

Unsuccessful experience may open my mind to new ideas but may destroy my
will to try.

We only see what we recognize. Experience permits us to see more in a
given situation and use it.

"There is no such thing as an immaculate perception.
What you see depends upon what you thought before you looked."
