David:

I agree completely. I am part of a healthcare system in the Southeastern
United States about to take on the task of "reengineering" (one buzz word
is as good as the next) and this is my greatest concern as the Project
Lead; creating this desire, passion, feeling of need for the project.

Ultmately, I want us to start working towards being an LO. I think that
this project coming up, where everyones attention will be focused, is a
good platform to begin communicating some practices and principles of an
LO.-- I feel like an ant looking up at Mt. Everest :-).-- But it puts a
spring in my step in the mornings knowing the challenges that lie ahead.

Having the ear of the executive staff during this project will allow for
many opportunities to begin the process of capturing their "souls" as you
put it, and creating a "burning platform" feeling of needing an LO here.
Whether they realize what they are feeling or not, I want to capture their
souls and attention first and then, let them sell me on the idea of an LO!
