Replying to LO15801 --

>Projects that are about changing all three -- technology, process, and
>structure -- have a chance of success. At least they have identified the
>critical dimensions. Projects that are _defined_ and _viewed_ as IT
>projects are guaranteed to fail. Unless they are trivial.

I agree with you.

And actually if you add Measurement and Management Systems and Values and
Beliefs, you end up with the BSD (business system diamond) from Michael
Hammer's and James Champy's "Reengineering the Corporation":

Process -> is supported by -> Organization
Organization -> is maintained by -> Measurement and Management Systems
Measurement and Management Systems -> require -> Values and Beliefs

and at the center you have "generative" IT. This is what was never
properly understood by reengineering practitioners:

All dimensions are equally important.

Ignoring one or more dimension leads to an incomplete solution and often
to failure.
