Here's a recent book about software design that is related to the fields
of business re-engineering and process design. Some ideas in the book
relate to (and may be based on) learning organization principles, such as
building shared vision.

The main idea is that customer data is necessary for developing products
that serve customers. The book shows how to gather and use data from
customers throughout the development process. (Note - not data about
customers that customers don't want the developer to have.)

I think that Larry Constantine (their mentor) is quoted as saying that
because of the book software will be more useful and easily usable.

The book (Contextual design : defining customer-centered systems, Hugh
Beyer and Karen Holtzblatt) is further described at the publisher's WWW
site.
