Responses to Ben's questions. (written quickly) My comments should
not be taken as either/or.

> 1. Inequality in ability is a natural state of existence? True or false?

The farthest reach of one's ability is seldom employed. Well within
one's ability, differences such as endurance, persistence, and work
ethic may be much more significant than ability.

> 2. An employees value is, to a large extent, determined by their
> performance? True or false?

Direct added value to one's employer may be due to performance. Yet
true (complete) value is likely not addressed through job
assignments.

> 3. Not all employee are equally valuable to their employer? True or false?

Not all colors of paint have equal value at a given location on the
painter's canvas. Yet a painter could highlight green, blue,
sunrises, rolling hills, rainswept vallies, ocean shores, teams of
horses, whatever. Probably the same painter (or employer) at any time
could direct a painting (redirect work) so that different
paint colors (employees) shine.

> 4. Each person is ultimately responsible for their own competency and
> their own learning? True or false?

People's learning may tend to become possessive of
historical advantages. That hinders the company's advancement.
Self-directed learning can hinder company advancement. There has to
be a working-together-with in order to be working toward the same
goals, proficiencies, awareness, skill, capacity, willingness, and
confidence.

Have a nice day
