Folks, if you are managers, and this is the plight of the people who work
with you, I suggest you are not paying attention to you own words. Our
factory is a community of practice. When we are forced to lay people off
(as we did today, 380 of them because of GM and Delphi strikes) we cry
together, hug each other and promise to make it right at the earliest
opportuntiy. In our world, hourly people and salaried people take the
same courses, talk the same talks, sit together on Friday afternoons to
talk about Deming, Covey, Senge, Jesus, and Buddha. Ben recently quoted
Covey on empowerment. Go back to that message and study it wisely.
