Brock, I think that it very much depends on who the boss is- it is not
possible to say categorically that ALL bosses are GOOD or all bosses are
BAD... its a personal thing. I have had bosses who I felt contempt towards
and bosses that I adored.

One principle that we have to worry about is the adverse effects of just a
few bad managers. In a world whose implicit basis is force, just one petty
person with power can make many other people^Rs lives a misery. It only
takes one bad manager (or politician) to have widespread negative
consequences.

To deal with this, companies should be constantly vigilant for situations
in which there is tension between different people and objectively assess
the situation. Whenever you see an inflexible procedure that does not make
sense, take a closer look, and chances are you will find a dynamic
individual and a scared manager.Companies should not hesitate to remove
bad managers- sooner rather than later because it is NOT possible to work
well under a manager you have no respect for and do not like.

Communication and effort are directly related to how you feel about the
person you are collaborating with- ask yourself who you work best with. If
business is to be a pleasure, then there needs to be pleasure between the
people doing the business.

world without force.
