As mergers create new and larger organizations the concept of a lower
group IQ than the average of the individual members may apply now to the
multi-national business as well as entire industries. The learning that is
being addressed (focused and nurtured) within the organization is a often
direct response to challenge(s) by competitors foreign and domestic
relative to product and service development required to enhance the
corporate ability to compete. Can the same concepts inherent to the LO be
applied with a larger scope to industries, without the conscious attempt
of individual corporate players? Are we on the verge of the Learning
Industry or is it already here.
