Mike, I'm glad you posted this message; I thought about it when I read
Richard Goodale's call for case study threads on this list. I think there
can be a useful cross-fertilization between these two. Case studies
provide the references to usage needed by patterns; patterns provide a way
to express the commonalities among cases and the lessons to be learned
from them. I'd love to see this kind of synergy come to fruition!
