Allow me to offer a definition for consideration.....
"Leadership is that side of a relationship in a community seeking guidance
for its actions that provides the guidance."
Usually the guidance is provided by one member of the community.
Followship is the side of this relationship that accepts and acts upon the
guidance.
The process by which leaders are designated varies from dictatorial to
community consensus.
The process by which leadership is exercised similarly varies along a broad
continuum.
Each of these statements is worthy of much dialog that can be fruitful
ground for improving the performance of any community. Just as a teaser -
leadership and followship are roles observed in human and non-human
communities.
Cheers to all
