You express it differently than I have heard it but you definitely
understand that changing requires pain. Change happens to drug addicts or
managers when the pain of changing is exceeded by the pain of not
changing.

I call it positive anxiety others call it dynamic tension. The anxiety to
change can be positive if the leader knows where to go and really believes
that is the right place to be. If the belief is weak then real pain occurs
and change is when the organization is in trouble and the change drags on.

i notice this post is named conflict, to me conflict is very different
than developing the anxiety required to make an organization change. Gene
