At the moment we are using all of the above terms in my organization (an
American petroleum company in Norway), and are debating which should be
the "umbrella" term.

The way I try to explain it to myself is that LO is the process, KM is the
result and IC is the measure.

It seems to me that LO is more easily understood and more often used by HR
people; KM by technical and IT people; and IC is so far not really
understood by anyone.

Does anyone have a good definition of each of the above terms? Do they
mean the same, but come from different "schools"? Can one term be said to
include the two others?
