I agree that it is powerful and it does happen -- I guess the question I
have is does it 'change me as a person'? Or --Does it change my behavior?
There are many times in my life that I have learned (learned about?). Do
all of these things change me as a person? My gut tells me no, unless I
decide that what I have learned should impact my behaviour.
Yes, all of the things that advertisers do can powerfully influence what
'sings in my mind'. THat's why they do them That's why good teachers use
some of these techniques to help students remember what teachers want them
to (for the next test).
However, I still believe that I have the final say on what I decide to be
as a person and what my behaviours will be. (and yes, I do fail at that
from time to time!!)
