Replying to LO20256 --

Winfried Dressler wrote referring to At de Lange's teachings on the seven
essentialities:

"May I ask you with all my heart to continue with the series on the seven
essentialities? To teach your formal knowledge and to share your
experiences and to help us to connect with our own experiental and tacit
knowledge on how to become a midwife for creative learning?

When we have the form completed, we can fill it up with content. And then
we may start to cook up this content to higher levels of creativity such
as faith and belief."

Good evening Winfried and List Members:

This past week, my wife and I had the joy of witnessing the birth of
another grandchild, a lovely little girl. Mary Stewart was delivered by a
midwife who explained the process as patiently and clearly as she could
while engaged in a truly emergent event. Our family was strengthened and
brought closer together by this experience - therefore Winfried's use of
the phrase "midwife for creative learning" hit home.

I would like to add my voice to Winfried's reflections on the many threads
initiated by At and extended by so many others. I, too, want to become a
better midwife for learning and sincerely encourage the further
development of the foundation for making this happen.

The process for making this happen for me is clearly taking the form of an
evolving series of thoughts and reflections - some forgotten, others
retained and built upon. There is a sense of incompleteness for me as well
at this time, but I take it to be a natural part of the journey. I believe
my level of thought has grown because of this dialogue on learning as it
applies to our organizations and to ourselves. The twists and turns of
these conversations are also stimulating quite a following. There's a
recognition that something special is occurring here. There's an
anticipation and energy to continue.

With this said, may I offer Seasons Greetings and Best Wishes for 1999.

Best Regards,
