Glen,

I enjoyed the "learning to drive a car" discussion. Another point...We
often do not consider how the environment actually learns (more accurately
CO-evolves) with us.

Consider how the streets are designed for driving. Traffic lights, roads,
turning lanes and parking spots have emerged to facilitate the process.

Also, some believe that there is a species wide learning which takes place
through "morphic resonance" (Rupert Sheldrake). This theory states that
as one organism learns a task, all other members of that species will then
find it easier to learn the same task through an invisible field.
Experiments have been performed on rats running mazes to demonstrate this.

This also parallels some of Abraham Maslow's last writings on eliminating
the dichotomy between selfishness and helping others... maybe as we grow
we cannot but help our brothers (& sisters).

Is there a "Vision field"? Is shared vision in an organization more than
just a shared goal? Does it generate a field which influences behavior??

pondering,
Chuck
