Hello Chuck,
My organization uses MBTI mainly for group dynamics and personal
relationship understanding and enhancement at the work face. At
organizational level there is the usual number crunching as a means of
gauging the organizational skewing. However this information is freely
available to all who desire it with possible scenarios emanating from such
a skew.
There is a push from top management (overseas) toward the 'learning
organization' concept yet the use of tools like MBTI have an emphasis on
personal awareness, own behavior and the behavior of others and group
development rather than identifying those whose behavior is conducive to
holistic and systems thinking.
While my organization has used training and development activities aimed
at systems thinking, as yet tools like MBTI are treated as such with the
aim, and more recently so, of focussing our people (globally) on our
charter.
Regards,
Dennis
