Dear LO'ers,

I like to attract your attention to the famous Christmas lectures of the
Royal Institution of Great Brittain. I suppose that there are a lot of
listmembers who are interested in this, because:
1. The Royal Institution is a LO
2. Teaching and learning go hand in hand; and the way these lectures are
performed for a life children public is amazing
3. The subjects treated are most interesting. Last year (1998) the theme
was "The body in balance"; this years theme is: "Arrows of time" [note the
plural!]. In 1997 it was mathematics. All these subjects play a role in
our discussions.

You may have a look to: http://www.ri.ac.uk/Christmas/

The BBC will broadcast these lectures in the week between Christmas and
New year. I hope you are able to have a look. I thought the they will also
broadcasted in the US, Japan and other countries.

Enjoy!
