Here is an example of the difference between vision and mission...as I see
it. Personally, I like vision statements to fit on a bumper sticker.
Many trainers these days are using videos called FISH! and FISH STICKS
...they focus on the story of the World Famous Pike Place Fish Market in
Seattle, Washington, U.S., that desperately wanted to change the way they
worked. Through discussion they came up with a shared vision (to be world
famous) and then came up with behaviors that would help that happen... the
rest is history. It is a remarkable place.
Vision = To be World Famous
Mission = Be There, Play, Choose your Attitude, Make Their Day, Commit,
Be
it, Coach it (the vision)
