Hello to all,
For my money, I like Senge's definition of mission and vision in the
original Fifth Discipline. It works for me and my actual experience
demonstrated that it holds up to the test in actual practice. Here is the
definitions, Mission--Why are we here? Vision--What is it that we seek to
create? Vision is the expression of mission. I was part of group awhile
back where this practice came to fruition. We all agreed what our mission
was, why we were together. A problem ensued where we couldn't figure out
the best way or shall I say what we should do or create in order to bring
the mission to fruition. Eventually we saw the demise of the organization
because we were not able to rectify these issues. By the way, it was a
group of highly intelligent, mostly doctorate level people. Interesting
don't you think?
My Best to you
