Replying to LO28970 --

Dear LO'ers, dear Andrew

While sitting in the early morning in front of my holiday farm with ground
mist over the meadows in front of me (promising another nice sunny day),
and while the cows of the neighbour been milked (they will leave the
stable soon for another sunny day in the grassy meadows), and a woodpecker
knocking a certain rhythm nearby, with my laptop on my knees (stictly
spoken I do not have a lap :-), I will write some words on your question:

I do not know so much of Courbet and Barbizon. What I know of movements in
art expressions is that they do not last for long. Some 10 years at the
most. Strange enough, Vincent van Gogh, while working very isolated in the
South of Holland, writes to his brother in one of his lettres: "There
seems to be a movement in Paris and they call theselve "Impressionists".
Theo, do you know of these painters?".

Some years later, Theo became one of the most important defenders and art
dealers of the impressionists, and Vincent seerved as great examples of
these painters.

In art there are much other examples of LO's, but all have not lived for a
long period. I was also thinking of great orchestras and e.g. the Beatles
in there first 6 years. I think they are examples, but why do these groups
fall apart after impressive outbursts of art expressions?

Greetings from the silence and serenity of east Holland.

Leo
