Dear LO list members

I have developed a set of nine 2-day workshops on Business Development
(see below) for a local College's corporate training division in Toronto,
and I would like to get some feedback from LO list members who are also
involved in Business Development, as well.

The definition that I use of Business Development is: how can I become
more opportunity -savvy and how can my organization become more
opportunity-sensitive? ( The Introduction workshop includes a learning
instrument -The Business Development Index)

The Business Development curriculum project is a result of my recognition
two years ago that a number of people (including entrepreneurs and SME's )
have business development in their titles or job roles/responsibilities,
but that an academic program in this field didn't exist. There is a lot
of confusion around the term "business development" and the academic
literature is sparse, fragmented, and largely inaccessible to most SME's.
Academics have largely ignored "business development" as a discipline.

Could you please respond:

 1) if you see any glaring gaps in content
 2) what other workshop topic areas would you suggest
 3) are you aware of any college or university offering a program on
"Business Development" the BizDev professional?
 4) can suggest what KM / LO tools or concepts can be integrated into the
workshops. (i.e I have a section called aligning your KM and Business
Development program in the Designing winning business Models workshop)
 5) I'd love to talk to people involved in Business Development (as VP's
or Directors to Business Development) to find out what components your
BizDev program includes.

The workshops include:

 1) Introduction to business development;
 2) Designing winning business models;
 3) Strategic Lateral Thinking for Business Development;
 4) The Opportunity Clinic-Spotting/Recognizing and designing
opportunities for your business;
 5) Advanced business development concepts and tools;
 6) Leadership Skills for Business Development.
 7) Strategic Relationships Partnerships and Alliances
 8) Co-development or co-creation strategies for business development
 9) Resolving Conflicts and Disputes in Strategic Relationships
Partnerships and Alliances
