At refreshed our memory of Maslow's Hierarchy:
> The "Hierarchy of Needs" as he formulated it, is from top to bottom:-
> 5 Self Actualization           -----
> 4 Ego Needs                  --------
> 3 Social Needs            ------------
> 2 Security Needs      ----------------
> 1 Bodily Needs      --------------------
then went on later to suggest:
> ... For example, I myself would rename the second highest stratum
> from "love" to "compassion" and place it at the top.
Here's a link with information regarding Maslow's hierarchy and the changes
_Maslow_ later made.

Here is a short quote from the cited webpage:
"Maslow later differentiated the growth need of self-actualization,
specifically naming two lower-level growth needs prior to general level of
self-actualization (Maslow & Lowery, 1998) and one beyond that level
(Maslow, 1971). They are:
5) Cognitive: to know, to understand, and explore;
6) Aesthetic: symmetry, order, and beauty;
7) Self-actualization: to find self-fulfillment and realize one's
potential; and
8) Transcendence: to help others find self-fulfillment and realize their
potential."
Thus the fifth and highest level was factored into four levels, with
transcendence as the new highest level.
