Joe made a strong case for why Americans do not manage projects well.

I had a conversation with a friend in Bangladesh recently in which we
discussed why certain businesses were leaving American shores for other
countries. He said, paraphrased, that Americans were such good fixers,
that they could make almost anything work. It was a point of pride for
us. The result was that we had no sense for when to just throew something
out and start over.
