Replying to LO14450 --

Vana Prewitt says hiring for

"attitude and aptitude can make a world of difference in the results,
regardless of degrees held and impressive resumes."

I heartily agree with that. In addition, measuring performance around
attitude and aptitude can be more relevant in my opinion than measuring
for 'results'. We already know the world is so complex that no one can
ever guarantee results. What is critical is how one responds to meeting
or not meeting the goal. If it is a learning experience, if it is a
positive experience, if one actively develops new and perhaps better ways
to attack problems in the future, then it has been a success. So measure
people on how they respond to failure, not whether they fail.
