What is manipulation? LO16096

Picking up from LO16082 on the conversation on this list:

The discussion on this topic appears to border on the meaning of two words
"Manipulation" and "Influencing". One of these words is more positive
than the other in common parlance. Yet the key is the intention.
However, is either ethical? IMO, as long as the process is democratic,
parties concerned have equal power in their relationship there would be
little change and development if the positive connotation of the two words
are not used. By default, however, change appears to be triggered by the
negetive connotation of the words. In this context, learning is to shift
from the current reality to the desired practice.

Sorry for this very abstract contribution. I hope this conveys my view.
