Dr Myron Tribus

The Germ Theory of Management revisited

Myron was on good form for this talk to the British Deming Association
Cotswold Network on 14 February 1998 at the Aztec Hotel, Bristol, UK.

The talk is an excellent introduction to the virus of variability and a
great way to get managers interested in the topic and in the new ways of
thinking which LOs require.

The talk includes material not in the original presentation and
some excellent questions including
o how to work with ISO9XXX when you have to
o how to relate Motorola's 6 sigma to a financial services organisation
o applying variability reduction to a service when everything seems
like a one off
o where to start in a small business
o how to keep motivation going in a large company embarked on
Continuous Improvement
o how to encourage and develop thinking in terms of systems and
processes.

The meeting was professionally recorded and audio tapes
(45 minutes of presentation and 45 minutes of questions)
