"strategy as patterned conversations" sounds good. The Nov/Dec 97 HBR has
an article called Strategy Under Uncertainty which can be read as a
'strategic thinking' pattern language in which the dialog of strategizing
is constrained within the problem-solving structures provided by strategic
patterns.
