I've been a "lurker" for some time, but let me add this to this thread,
because the metaphor of music to describe cooperation and competion
triggered the memory of another example. Perhaps other subscribers will
remember the performance of the Three Tenors (Pavorati, Domingo, and
Carreras) in Rome when they came out for an unrehearsed encore in which
there were elements of competition that became transformed in unparalleled
cooperation. If you have an opportunity to view the video of this moment,
you, too, might feel that you have had a glimpse of a "learning
organization" actually in operation. It is a truly extraordinary moment.
