I'm interested to hear what you think and see what you're using to
energise yourself and clients dusing those long workshop sessions!
Incidentally, we were using a set of "Brain Gym" exercises adapted from
Carla Hannaford's book Smart Moves. The idea is to use a coordinated,
integrative movements that are said to enhance learning for everyone by
activating whole brain functioning. Whether or not the exercises 'work',
they do provide useful physical / mental exercises which do change our
business delegates' states.
One exercise we use is called the cross crawl. Basically the movement is
to touch the left elbow with the right knee, followed by the right elbow
with the left knee. The movement is performed VERY slowly as this
apparently requires more fine motor involvement and balance. Also, it
seems that large areas of both brain hemispheres are being activated
simultaneously.
