This response troubled me. I believe that we have different
understandings of the word -Trust-. I think that while Knowledge and
-Faith- may be opposites, I don't find Knowledge and Trust to be
opposites.
But this idea of opposites triggers another thought here for me. Suppose
there is -something- flowing in organizations which -is- vital. Let me
relate it to -light-. When we measure light we can conceive it as
particles or waves -- and that determines how we will measure it.
Whatever 'it' is that flows in organizations, what we think it is will
determine on how we -choose- to measure it, and hence whether we find it.
But 'it' is the same either way. Unfortunately, while we feel very
comfortable trying to measure it as Knowledge (particles?), we stumble
when we even consider that it might be Trust (waves?) instead.
On a lighter side, a friend suggested that the organizational emergency
medical technician will likely be a Cost Accountant, who will show up able
to measure all sorts of things, which may or may not relate to the health
of the organization. The friend, by the way, is an accountant!
