Doc,

Over my life time Universities have been teaching organizations not
organizations that learn. They simple tell us what others may have
learned. If they were learning organizations then the break throughs in
management would have been evolving there but they evolved on the
periphery of the industrialized world in factories. Now universities teach
what Deming learned in Japan and early American under a thousand names but
still his old stuff.

A organization that learns takes the results of it's process communicates
them to its members and tries to change for the better. Few universities I
have seen evaluate their results and implement changes to the teaching
system. Teaching is their job.

They simply add courses and buy new buildings respond to legislation and
confuse that with improving and learning.

Rattling on.
