Conference, sponsored by Pegasus Communications. This year's conference,
"Meeting the Challenges of a Global Enterprise," will be held from
November 3 to 5 at the Atlanta Hilton Hotel and Towers in Atlanta,
Georgia. Both novices and experienced systems thinkers and organizational
learning practitioners will benefit from the variety of keynote
presentations, forums, and sessions designed to address how learning
communities can help global enterprises thrive. Substantial discounts are
available to teams of 4 or more registering together. Call 800-272-0945
for details.

Keynote speakers will include Peter Senge, author of The Fifth Discipline
and The Dance of Change, Arie de Geus, former executive at Royal
Dutch/Shell and author of The Living Company: Habits for Survival in a
Turbulent Business Environment ; Michelle Hunt, founder of Visions &
Values and author of DreamMakers: Putting Vision and Values to Work; Hazel
Henderson, syndicated columnist, international consultant on sustainable
development, and author of Building a Win-Win World; and David Marsing,

A number of special events and pre-conference courses will supplement STA
1999. Monday, November 1 through Tuesday, November 2, The Society for
Organizational Learning will sponsor a mini-conference on the hot topic of
"Integrating Organizational Learning with Knowledge Management." Both
newcomers to the field of organizational learning and individuals looking
for a review of the five disciplines or fresh approaches for presenting
them will benefit from "Outlearning the Wolves^×An Introduction to
Organizational Learning," to be held on November 2, 1999.

Pegasus Communications will host an Authors' Night on Wednesday, November
3. Free and open to the public, the event will feature talks by David

Wolves: Surviving and Thriving in a Learning Organization and Shadows of
the Neanderthal: Illuminating the Beliefs that Limit Our Organizations;
William Isaacs, author of the recently published Dialogue and the Art of
Thinking Together; and Art Kleiner and George Roth, co-authors of The
Dance of Change: The Challenge of Sustaining Momentum in Learning
Organizations.

Finally, on Thursday, November 4, experts in the field of systems thinking
will focus on the troubling issue of school violence in an evening forum
sponsored by Pegasus>Communications. "School Violence: A Pressing
Challenge for Systems Thinking" is free and open to the public, and
interested members of the Atlanta community are invited to attend and
