Dear John,

I offer you four voices:

....
"Others, indeed, thus not (themselves) knowing,
having heard from others, (adoringly) attend.
They also, too, transcend even death,
that which is heard, (their) highest (goal)."

...
"And yet there are others who do not know,
but they hear from others and adore.
They also cross beyond death,
because of their devotion to words of Truth."

....
"Yet others, ignorant of this (these paths) hearing from others worship;
and they too cross beyond death by their devotion to what they've heard."

....
"But others, not having this knowledge,
Hearing it from others, revere it;
Even they also, nevertheless, cross over
Death, devoted to the holy revelation which they hear."

Borrowed from Peter Tufts Richardson's Four Spiritualities.
