I understand that Jack Welch implemented a system of performance ranking
at G.E. several years ago in which the bottom ranked 10% are terminated
every year. I am looking for information sources on the design of this
program and how effective it has proven to be over time. I wasn't able to
find any mention of the approach in the book "The GE Way". Can anyone
refer me to a journal article? Or anecdotal evidence? Or point me to
another source?
