Dear Organlearners,
Greetings to all of you.
This is my second reply to the writing of
Andrew Campbell < ACampnona@aol.com > writes:
>Why has no-one (so far as I know in the public

Andrew triggered in me the following question. How sensitive are the
American people to the lack of the 7Es causing the bankruptcy of Enron? So
I made use of Google's advanced search engine at
< http://www.google.com/advanced_search >
To get the whole field within which I would base my searches, I
used the following keywords in top window "ALL of the words"
. Enron bankruptcy
I got 70 000 hits.
The following searches were then made:
In top window "ALL of the words"
. Enron bankruptcy E
In third window "ANY of the words"
. little lack
where E is a word having to do with one of the 7Es (seven
essentialities of creativity). The results are as follow (each
word has been used in the place of E):
liveness 0
. change 4390
. rigid 113
. becoming 1310
sureness 1
. identity 515
. context 843
. categorical 12
wholeness 0
. unity 195
. field 1800
. whole 3960
fruitfulness 0
. connectivity 154
. contact 6180
spareness 0
. quantity 310
. limit 1580
otherness 0
. quality 3710
. variety 1190
. diversity 445
openness 162
. paradigm 154
. mindset 95
Obviously, not all the hits for each search articulate the lack of a 7E.
Thus these numbers of hits represent more than what we may expect. They
also involve more sites than only those in the USA.
In this sense the results for sureness and wholeness schocked
me. They are standard English words and not my creations like
spareness. So I then deleted "lack little" in the third column and
searched again with in the top window "ALL of the words"
. Enron bankruptcy E
The results are:
sureness 2
wholeness 0
They schocked me again.
So I removed even the word bankruptcy from the top window,
leaving only Enron in it, to cast the net as wide as possible. Here
are the results:
sureness 5
wholeness 47
Again I have to stress that I did not scutinise each of these 5 and
47 sites whether they articulate a lack of sureness ot wholeness
as the reason for Enron's demise. One of these sites "caught my
eyes" and I will report on it under the topic "New Age CEOs".
I am horrified at how little the concepts sureness and wholeness figure in
reports/discussions/analysis/proceedings on the tragedy of Enron's down
fall. Thinking of sureness and wholeness as not only concepts, but
essential to creativity and hence learning and knowledge, this horror is
almost beyond description. Something terrible is wrong.
How much is Corporate America oblivious to sureness and
wholeness? How much are the watchdogs over Corporate
America like accountancy firms and consumer organisations
oblivious to sureness and wholeness? The cynical comment
in "New Age CEOs" compelled me to make the following
search with key words:
second window "with EXACT phrase"
. lack of E
third window "ANYof the words"
. corporate executive
Hold your chair firmly because here are the results:
sureness 11
wholeness 30
Compare this with deleting "corporate executive" in the third
window and having only E in the top window:
sureness 12 400
wholeness 166 000
Not believing these results, I made the next search with keywords
top window
. creativity learning
2nd window
. lack of E
3rd window
. corporate executive
The results are:
sureness 0
wholeness 9
With little sureness or wholeness creativity and hence learning
slow down to a snail's pace.
Corporate America is blind to sureness and wholeness.
Corporate America is insensitive to creativity and learning.
Corporate America serves the American public little.
Corporate America is very close to horrific tragedy.
And so is it with the rest of the Corporate World because
these hits represent the whole of Internet and not merely
the USA.
The cynical in me got the overhand. So I made the last search
with keywords
top window
. fortune
3rd window
. corporate executive
I got 851 000 hits. Yes, the comments in "New Age CEOs"
have indeed a omnious warning in them.
Fellow learner Alfred Rheeder and I had once a deep dialogue on the lack
of either sureness or wholeness in the American society. I think the
figures above will give him much to think about.
With care and best wishes
